Discover KnitMesh Technologies’ VibraMesh® Vibration Isolators

VibraMesh® Vibration Isolators from KnitMesh Technologies are designed for reliable vibration control in demanding automotive, motorsport, and industrial applications. Supplied ex-stock with zero tooling costs, VibraMesh® allows engineers to install and test quickly, making it ideal for prototype builds, low-volume production, and specialist applications.

Manufactured from knitted wire mesh, VibraMesh® provides effective vibration damping and thermal stability where rubber or polymer isolators fail. The metallic knitted wire mesh structure absorbs and dissipates vibration from engines, exhausts, and mechanical assemblies, helping to reduce noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH).

Made using high-quality stainless steel alloys, VibraMesh® delivers excellent durability and high-temperature performance. It operates up to 750°C as standard and up to 1000°C with high-temperature materials. The knitted wire mesh design also allows for thermal expansion and movement while maintaining a secure clamping force.

Motorsport and Performance Automotive Systems

In motorsport and performance automotive systems, VibraMesh® Vibration Isolators are used in turbocharger, catalytic converter, and exhaust assemblies to manage extreme heat and vibration. They reduce component fatigue, improve reliability, and protect surrounding parts in high-stress operating conditions.

Prototype Vehicle Builds and Low-Volume Production Runs

VibraMesh® is ideal for prototype builds and low-volume production where speed, flexibility, and cost control are critical. Supplied ex-stock with zero tooling costs, the self-assembly design allows quick installation and easy modification during testing and development.

High-Temperature Engine Bays

In high-temperature engine bay environments, VibraMesh® provides reliable vibration isolation where rubber or polymer materials degrade. The stainless steel knitted wire mesh withstands extreme heat, oil, and fuel exposure while accommodating thermal movement.

Specialist Mechanical and Industrial Systems

VibraMesh®  is used in specialist mechanical and industrial systems exposed to continuous vibration, heat, and mechanical loading. Its durable, maintenance-free design helps reduce vibration-related wear, extend component life, and improve overall system reliability.

How Knitted Wire Mesh Absorbs Energy

Knitted wire mesh is a highly versatile material used in a variety of industries because of its ability to absorb energy. The unique nature of the material allows it to absorb energy in the form of heat, vibration, and sound, making it a popular choice for many different applications.

One way that knitted wire mesh absorbs energy is through heat transfer. Because the material is made up of interlocking loops of wire, it has a large surface area that can absorb heat from its surroundings. This makes it an ideal material for use in applications that generate a lot of heat, such as high-performance engines or electronic devices. By absorbing excess heat, knitted wire mesh helps to protect these components and prevent damage.

Another way that knitted wire mesh absorbs energy is through vibration. When an object vibrates, it gives off energy in the form of sound waves. Knitted wire mesh is a highly effective material for absorbing these sound waves, as the loops of wire help to dissipate the energy and reduce the amplitude of the vibrations. This makes it an ideal material for use in applications that require noise reduction, such as in automotive exhaust systems or industrial machinery.

Lastly, knitted wire mesh can also absorb energy in the form of sound waves themselves. When sound waves pass through the material, they encounter resistance from the interlocking loops of wire, which helps to dissipate the energy and reduce the volume of the sound. This makes knitted wire mesh a popular material for use in acoustic panels and other sound insulation applications.
