Resilient Cores & Gaskets

Resilient Cores & Gaskets

KnitMesh Technologies manufactures a wide range of temperature-resilient cores and gaskets for use in many industries including aerospace, refractory, cryogenics and marine. Special applications include aircraft hatch seals, as well as door seals for ovens, boilers and furnaces.

Resilient cores and gaskets are constructed by forming raw knitted mesh into circular and rectangular sections that are designed to withstand pressure and temperature extremes. The final product comprises a myriad of tiny springs, each with the resilience to ‘spring back’ under compression.

Available materials

Materials used for relatively low temperature applications of knitted wire mesh include grades 304 and 316 stainless steel. For more extreme environments, products are available in stainless steel grades 321,347, 310 and 310S. For temperatures exceeding 1000°C, materials such as Inconel 601* may be used

Data on compressibility and recovery under load is available on request.
