Q: What steps has KnitMesh Technologies taken to raise awareness and promote mental health on World Mental Health Day?

Initially, we promoted mental health helplines and websites on noticeboards around the building. Realising that additional support was needed, we invested in a comprehensive well-being strategy. This included partnering with a benefit provider that offers an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), Wellbeing Platform, Digital Gym, Wellbeing Series, Virtual GP Service, and a discount portal to assist employees in various aspects of their well-being.

 

Q: Can you explain what the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is and how it supports the mental well-being of KnitMesh Technologies employees?

The EAP provides employees with 24/7 access to mental health professionals via phone, live chat, WhatsApp, and more. It offers counselling sessions for various concerns, including work-related stress, mental health disorders, relationship issues, and referrals for additional services. Employees can also arrange face-to-face counselling sessions for up to 8 concerns, helping to address mental health issues and improve overall well-being.

 

Q: Can you explain what the Virtual GP Service is and how it supports the mental well-being of KnitMesh Technologies employees?

The Virtual GP Service allows employees to access unlimited GPs 24/7 through video, phone, and e-consultation. This service streamlines access to medical support, reducing the stress and time associated with traditional GP appointments. Employees can seek medical advice and receive prescriptions conveniently, enhancing their overall well-being.

 

Q: How can employees access the EAP and Virtual GP Service at KnitMesh Technologies?

Both services are accessible through our benefits portal, offering employees flexibility in choosing their preferred mode of communication, whether through video calls, phone calls, or other means.

 

Q: What plans does KnitMesh Technologies have for expanding and improving its mental health support programmes in the future?

Our future plans include implementing Mental Health First Aiders and involving employees in shaping our well-being strategy through quarterly Employee Forum meetings. We aim to continuously evolve our approach based on employee feedback and changing needs.

 

Q: What advice do you have for other organisations looking to prioritise mental health in their workplaces?

Listen to your employees! Understanding their needs and preferences is key to implementing effective initiatives that support mental well-being in the workplace.
