PTFE Mesh & Teflon Mesh
Description
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and Fluorinatedethylenepropylene (FEP), a melt processable version of PTFE, is a copolymer of hexafluoropropylene and tetrafluoroetheylene. Both products are commonly called Teflon® – a product invented in 1938 and now owned by Chemours.
Properties
Both products are tough, flexible, non-resilient, thermoplastic materials of average tensile strength but with excellent thermal (MP = 260-3250C), insulation and chemical resistance properties. The products are also resistant to UV/weathering and naturally hydrophobic.
Applications
Typically used in arduous process industry environments such as gas/liquid or liquid/liquid separation (demister) or coalescer applications.
