Nickel Mesh
Description
Nickel is a versatile element that will alloy with most metals and complete solid solubility exists between nickel and copper. Often referred to as Monel® alloys.
Properties
Nickel alloys exhibit high levels of corrosion resistance (especially to seawater) and high strength at elevated temperatures. Nickel has special magnetic and thermal expansion properties and is often used as a plating or alloyed to protect other metals.
Applications
Nickel can withstand very harsh environments and is therefore suitable for many chemical and marine industry applications where other materials will fail. Typical uses include conductive cushions in electrochemical equipment, electrical connections and seals in marine engineering, and high-temperature anti-vibration components for use in gas turbines.
