KnitMesh Technologies to Debut DroneStop® Anti-Drone Mesh at DPRTE 2026

Posted On : Tuesday 10th March

KnitMesh Technologies has announced that it will exhibit at Defence Procurement, Research, Technology and Exportability (DPRTE) 2026 for the first time, marking a key milestone as the company expands its presence within the defence and security sector.

Taking place on 25–26 March at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre, DPRTE brings together defence procurement leaders, suppliers, and innovators from across the UK and international defence supply chain.

At the event, KnitMesh Technologies will showcase DroneStop®, an advanced knitted wire counter-drone mesh barrier system designed to protect critical infrastructure, military assets, and personnel from the rapidly growing threat posed by unmanned aerial systems.

A Last Line of Defence Against Drone Threats

Recent conflicts have highlighted the increasing role of drones in modern warfare, from surveillance and reconnaissance to the delivery of explosive payloads. As drone technology becomes more accessible and adaptable, protecting critical assets has become an urgent priority.

DroneStop® Anti-Drone Mesh is designed to act as a reliable last line of defence, physically preventing drones and falling munitions from reaching their intended targets. As a passive protection system, it works alongside wider counter-UAS strategies without relying on electronic disruption or complex technology.

Key Features and Benefits

Developed through ongoing research, engineering expertise, and product innovation, DroneStop® Anti-Drone Mesh uses high-strength knitted wire mesh to deliver a flexible yet highly durable protection system.

Manufactured from 304 stainless steel wire, the mesh combines strength with lightweight performance. The system is available in roll widths from 500mm to 2000mm and lengths up to 50 metres, allowing it to be adapted to a wide range of installations.

Key advantages include:

  • Physical barrier against drones and falling ammunition
  • Up to 80% lighter than traditional weld-mesh systems
  • Rapid installation and redeployment
  • Fire-resistant stainless steel construction
  • Available in plain, black oxidised, or camouflage finishes
  • Withstands snow loads and high wind conditions
  • Reusable with a low lifecycle cost

The system can be deployed as overhead shielding, protective enclosures, or perimeter barriers, helping safeguard personnel, vehicles, ammunition stores, infrastructure, and military equipment.
