DroneStop® Counter-UAS Shield to Be Showcased at DPRTE 2026

Posted On : Dienstag 10th März

KnitMesh Technologies has announced that it will exhibit at Defence Procurement, Research, Technology and Exportability (DPRTE) 2026 for the first time, marking an important milestone as the company expands its presence within the UK defence and security sector.

Taking place on 25–26 March at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre, DPRTE brings together defence procurement leaders, suppliers and innovators from across the UK and international defence supply chain.

At the event, KnitMesh Technologies will showcase DroneStop®, a high-performance physical Counter-UAS (C-UAS) and counter-drone protection solution developed to help protect military assets, personnel, prison facilities and Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) from hostile and unauthorised drones.

Physical Counter-UAS Protection Against Evolving Drone Threats

Recent conflicts have demonstrated the increasing role of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in modern warfare, from surveillance and reconnaissance to the delivery of payloads. As drone technology continues to evolve and become more accessible, protecting personnel, critical assets and infrastructure against hostile drone activity is an increasingly important consideration for defence and security organisations.

DroneStop® Counter-UAS Shield provides a passive physical protection layer as part of a layered Counter-UAS strategy. Rather than relying on power, jamming or RF interference, DroneStop® creates a physical barrier between the drone threat and the people, assets or infrastructure being protected, complementing electronic detection, tracking and active counter-drone technologies as part of a defence-in-depth approach.

DroneStop® Counter-UAS Shield Features & Benefits

Developed by KnitMesh Technologies through ongoing research, engineering and product development, DroneStop® uses high-strength stainless steel knitted wire mesh to create a lightweight, durable and scalable physical Counter-UAS barrier.

Manufactured from 304L stainless steel wire as standard, DroneStop® combines high strength with lightweight performance and can be configured to suit both temporary and permanent installations. Its flexible knitted construction enables the system to be adapted to a wide range of military, defence, security and critical infrastructure applications.

Key features and benefits include:

  • Passive physical Counter-UAS and counter-drone protection
  • Lightweight construction for easier handling and deployment
  • Rapid installation, repair and redeployment
  • Fire-resistant stainless steel construction
  • No power, jamming or RF interference required
  • Maintains visibility and natural light
  • Suitable for temporary and permanent installations
  • Durable, reusable and low maintenance
  • Scalable for bespoke projects and major defence programmes

DroneStop® can be deployed as overhead drone protection, protective enclosures and physical perimeter barriers, helping to protect personnel, vehicles, equipment, sensitive assets and infrastructure against evolving drone threats.

Designed and Manufactured at Scale

Designed to meet the changing face of warfare and emerging operational demands, DroneStop® can be manufactured at scale, from one-off bespoke requirements and pilot projects through to high-volume production for major defence, security and Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) programmes.

KnitMesh Technologies‘ continued investment in research and development and advanced manufacturing, including the world’s largest wire knitting machine, provides the manufacturing capacity to respond rapidly to changing operational requirements while maintaining consistent quality across production volumes.
