KnitMesh Technologies invests in new large-format knitting machine

KnitMesh Technologies, the UK specialist knitted wire design, development and manufacturing company, has invested in a second large-format metal wire knitting machine for use at its UK-based technology centre, near Chester.

Comments company General Manager, Peter Evans, “As anti-vandal meshes become increasingly popular in the manufacture of public transport seating and truck side curtains, we have seen quite an increase in this side of the business. It, therefore, seemed only fitting that we should increase our capacity to meet this increasing demand.”

The new wide-format knitting machine purchased by KnitMesh Technologies is capable of knitting tubes, typically of stainless steel wire, up to 1200mm diameter. These then provide a flat sheet up 2.4 metres wide, ready for further processing into seat linings, vehicle curtains, and countless other applications.

This latest investment by KnitMesh Technologies follows on from the company’s recent purchase of a new compression tester and high-temperature fatigue-testing machine for use at their industry leading Research & Development facility.

Concludes Peter Evans, “Across numerous industrial sectors, KnitMesh Technologies has a reputation for providing highly advanced solutions. This new machine purchase further underlines our commitment to ensure we remain the leading choice for premier mesh products across the globe.”
